This stunning Estate, nestled on 10 ridge top acres in Santa Rosa’s prestigious Foothills combine a furnished 2-story 3br/3ba storybook French chateau and a separate large cottage/4th bedroom. This custom home and cottage features authentic French styling with steep hip roofs and including old world style shutters, a Cinderella balcony, as well as vaulted cathedral ceilings and hand-troweled interior and exterior walls. The large cottage/4th bedroom is just steps away. Spectacular, spectacular, spectacular! Follow this exclusive community’s paved access road, through the woods, and up to this stunning home in Mother Nature’s paradise. The countertops are cream tile with a decorative tile backsplash and a deep, double wide, porcelain sink, and dishwasher make clean-up a breeze. Accented with custom pendant lighting, this lovely galley kitchen also includes a cozy breakfast nook with built-in bench and cushions, and a Restoration Hardware wood table for 6, with old world style, doored cupboard on each side. The kitchen area opens to the formal dining room with vaulted coffered ceilings and a skylight, and two full glass doors lead to the back entertainment area with outdoor table and chairs for 6 and a Weber Genesis grill.

The views from the dining room are lovely and include raised planting beds with a ‘bouquet’ of rose bushes. On the upsloping hill behind is a row of mature fruit-yielding trees. As referenced, all of the dining room furniture is from Restoration Hardware including dining table and chairs for 8, matching side-serving table, and a beautiful antique chandelier provides light for your dining pleasure.

The formal living area Great Room, which combines with the dining room, has high cathedral ceilings with an exposed wood beam, a beautiful wood burning French-style fireplace with slate mantle, and more lovely Restoration Hardware furnishings. Two full glass doors lead to the north side outdoor seating area with additional outdoor seating including sofa and two side chairs, coffee table, and end table, with a lawn, and hobby vineyard and incredible north-facing forever views. On each side of the living room fireplace are full glass paned doors. Two freestanding bookshelves and a large antique wood relief mirror complete the lovely living room.

To the left of the entry and up two steps is the entertainment room with coffered vaulted ceilings, exposed wood beams, and repurposed wood cupboards. Furnishings here include an overstuffed sofa and matching loveseat and ottoman, coffee table, and repurposed wood cupboards. Entertainment is provided by the Sony Bravia 50” HD TV with blu-ray player and Dish network. Whole house WiFi is also provided.

Off the media room is the main level Jack N Jill shared full bath with tiled shower over porcelain tub combo. New low-flow Glacier Bay toilets have been installed throughout the home. This bathroom opens up to the first guest bedroom, as well as the media room. The first guest bedroom/study is currently home to two twin beds and dresser but may be converted into an office space, as well.

Also off the media room is the Master Suite with a Restoration Hardware antique wood sleigh king bed, built-in bench, nightstand, and dressers. The Master ensuite bath includes a large freestanding tile shower, two individual stone-topped vanities, a private water closet, Master closet, and coffered high ceilings. The Master bedroom is carpeted with oak hardwood floors in the Master bath.

Now down the carpeted stairs to the downstairs suite with its separate private entry on the ground level. The downstairs entry floor is slate and the bedroom has a queen size sleigh bed and dresser, a full bathroom with stone-topped, single sinked vanity, and slate tiled shower. This area is also home to the indoor laundry room with Whirlpool HE Duet washer and dryer, laundry sink, and a slate-topped desk.

The Cottage, of course, is custom built to match the beautiful Country French styling and matching formed stone tile steep hip roof, with cypress trees and wisteria at the entry. Volcanic rock retaining walls border the gravel walkways and outdoor entertainment areas around the main home and the path to the Cottage. The cottage porch terracotta tile continues into the entry which has exposed wood beams and this large studio is approximately 25’x25’ with very high cathedral ceilings and exposed wood beams with beautiful, antique-styled chandelier. A unique feature here is a small room above the entry, with a Cinderella balcony, accessed by a wall-mounted ladder which currently has a twin bed. The cottage has a full bath with large tiled shower. The cottage also features a very large pull out sofa that sleeps two and bunk beds that sleep an additional 2 if needed.

Ideally located for enjoying the many outstanding adventures that Sonoma County Wine Country offers, this beautiful Estate home is truly a ‘Grand Central Station’. Enjoy charming and historic Healdsburg, the crown jewel of wine country, just a short drive north via Hwy 101, with its outstanding dining, shopping, Plaza surrounded by redwoods with many activities, and the famed wine growing regions including the Dry Creek, Alexander, and Russian River Valleys.

Traveling east, you can explore Calistoga, St. Helena, the Silverado Wine Trail through the vineyards with more world class wineries leads to the city of Sonoma, with the city of Napa just a little further. You can also have more adventures by heading west and following the redwood tree-lined river road along the Russian River through Guerneville to the pristine Armstrong Redwood State Park. Continuing west, you will reach river’s end where the Russian River empties into the Pacific Ocean, and on to the beautiful and rugged Sonoma County coastline.
